No import into Blender after export with Z-Mod.

Post by Harald-RS »

Hello Oleg,

I noticed when I export model with the Z-Mod with the new format. Nobody can improvise this in Bleder anymore.

All DDS files are imported in black during import.

Can you please check this.

I see the log says unnamed shader used in material mat_0000 is not available. most likely the importer can not parse new material files, because if it could, there should be a shader name written there. The first question would be - does this importer loads original game models with new material format properly? if it does, a set of trial and error attempts with manual editing of .mat files can reveal what exactly cause importer to fail on zmodeler-generated .mat files.

For example, I have just imported DAF XD into an even older version of Blender and with an even older version of SCS Blender Tools (in which I work all the time and create my models) without any problems

"DAF XD into an even older version of Blender"
Does this model use new version of materials?

I advise to put any original material into zmodeler-generated .mat file and make an import. Just to check whether this is an issue with new material format or ZModeler-generated material data layout is the cause.

The DAF XD is the latest truck from SCS, as soon as you export it with Z-Mod 3 it can no longer be imported correctly by Blender, then it is black like the ACTROS.

I suspect it is because of where the path is in the mat file for the DDS file.

I don't have blender or blender tools, but I guess the issue is related to .mat files. I think it might take 4...5...7 attempts to find the cause by mixing zmodeler-generated .mat file and original game's .mat file.

This is the most recent export of imported daf xf truck.pmd file. Does it load fine in Blender?

Pardon... You have been talking about DAF XD. Here's the import/export of small cabin of DAF_XF.

The spike on the roof is to ensure the modded model is shown.

yes blender can read the mat files.

only the glass shader still contains old env_factor attribute, which was removed long time ago
