Separating car body parts to create template!

Post by Shaine415 »

Hello all,
Ive been getting quite used to Zmodeler3 over the last couple of weeks watching tutorials etc but this 1 vehicle model i am trying to create a Template of is giving me right trouble.

Ive created Templates before to create police car liveries but on this particular model it will not let me select the polygon's from the body, doors, extra body kit and bumpers etc is fine but nothing on the body to separate the wings/roof.
Ive attached an image hoping it explains what i mean.
Im not sure what todo to rectify this.
Thankyou

I have tried several ways to select the body.

Select/Separated
Select/[By Material]
Select/Quadr

Nothing seems to grab any of it, it all just stays red regardless what ive tried.

The object is made of several objects that are a single group. I advise to ungroup an object first.
Once you have polygons selected, use Modify\Submesh\Detach tool.
