Hi again,
I thought it be a simple of unlinking of children then exporting the individual files however when I do that I get .odr files instead of .odd. Or trying to do such a thing is more complicated then just a simple unlink and export?
making a non-streamed ped into a streamed ped
Re: making a non-streamed ped into a streamed ped
you should have .skel (skeleon) in .global branch of hierarchy.
you create a dummy node named, say, accs_001_u. Then drag&drop an associated accessory geometry component (.mesh object) into this branch. Then use File\Export. Specify file name accs_001_u.ydd (toggle "Skeletal" option on) and export. Exporter will find the dummy node "accs_001_u" and will export everything it has. In particular, it will export geometry .mesh, and since it is rigged to a skeleton in .global, exporter will export skeletal data too. So, in general, you should get a correct .ydd file with ped component.
quite likely you've missed a file extension .ydd when you exported a file and exporter assumed by default you need a .ydr file to be exported. The .ydr file layout is generally very alike, so an export succeed with no errors.
