How does the Cast Shadow option in the material settings work?
I tried just checking the box, but I don't see a shadow in game and when I import the file again the check on cast shadow is no longer there.
Cast Shadow Material Option

Re: Cast Shadow Material Option
This is a design option for import/export of materials only. When certain game has this option on its native materials, this checkbox option is used to control material show casting settings. This is the case for Mafia2 game materials.
In ETS2/ATS this option affects materials that can have ".shadow" suffix in material name. Most of game shaders have this feature, starting from the simplest "dif" adaptation. However, for trucks and trailers the game disables shadow casting feature. instead, it renders a simplified geometry object with material adaptation "shadowonly" - this geometry will cast shadows. So, if you need some geometry to cast shadows, you need to create additional shadow-casting geometry and assign material "shadowonly".
