DDS Problem with nocompatible DDS

Post by Harald-RS »

Hi Oleg,

there is the possibility that Z-Mod also exports the DDS files so that they are displayed correctly on all systems where ETS2 is running.

Because when users of my mods use OpenGL the DDS files are all black.

Do you mean the .dds texture itself, or a corresponding texture object file (.tobj)? If you re-save .dds via any external tool, does it solve the problem?

I mean the .DDS textures itself.

When i use paint.net and dxbmp for saving the .dds files it's no compatible with other OS-Systems Linux / Mac.

are there any quick fix (like resaving) that does not change the file size? If you have an original and a fixed version, I would like to take a look at both, may be some heading information is incorrect or incompatible.

No, the problem is simply this.

That all Windows programs like Gimp, Paint.net, Paint and DXTBmp only save the DDS in Windows format.

If you want to use the truck on another operating system than Windows the DDS does not contain the OpenGl identifier.

Someone in the SCS Forum wrote that this can only be fixed with a HEX editor.

Someone else said you can do that with Blender which saves the DDS files automatically when you create a mod.
