Re: How to make a UI completely from scratch?
Here is such a mod from the author of the tutorial you mentioned: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=835709 It consist exclusively of *.mat, *.tobj and *.dds files, plus two *.sii definition files. No 3D model. So Oleg's hint is correct, this is not a Zmodeler job. Unfortunately, the guy who ...

Re: DDS Problem
Possibly the DDS file is not placed in your mod at that very location where the model is expecting it. Check your game log, it throws an error for sure. And tells you what the expected location/name is.

Re: Service Nodes numbers
This is very, very old. From GTS. Possibly incomplete even then. And now, there are probably additional service numbers. But I'm confident the numbers didn't change:

Re: Animations
No. Even if animation code could be shared between different 3D models - which I don't know, but doubt: the external engine fan would probably only make sense as part of the truck model. But if your view is bound to the interior camera, you can't see any part of the truck model, only the interior it...

Re: Zmodler under Linux
Harald, everybody understands your reasoning. But porting Zmodeler, a Windows based program that never had portability in mind, to Linux, would cost Oleg hundreds of hours. If not more. Which means a workload worth many thousands of Euro. And the time spend on this is lost for ordinary Zmodeler deve...

Re: 18wos convert to ats
I highly doubt that Zmodeler 3 can import such an old model. But don't know for certain. It may be still possible to import it with the old Zmodeler 2 . If so, the result could be transferred to Zmodeler 3. I have done this with some ETS 1 mods of mine. In 2012 or 2013. I simply don't remember if I ...

Re: Crash when importing a pmd from the new 1.36 base
I've just read somewhere a nondescript comment that there was a change. In the following, I opened both a 1.35 and a new 1.36 PPD with a hex-editor, and spotted a version increase.
I have no more information to offer, sorry.

Re: Crash when importing a pmd from the new 1.36 base
Not really related, but as Oleg mentioned the beta:
PPD files got a version increase, from 0x16 to 0x17. I have no clue what changed. Just in case this isn't already known.

Re: N00b question about ETS2 vehicle mods
Yes, you can. Provided the mod isn't "locked" by pseudo-password protection. So you should first take the mod in question and extract all its content to a folder, to check everything can be accessed without complaint. Some mods can't be extracted, while the game is able to load them, never...

Re: Unable to validate
Yes, on same PC, I'm doing that all the time. Just be aware that any change to Zmodeler internal settings will be local because all Zmodeler files will exist twice. And a small hint: If you apply Zmodeler updates, with auto-update, be sure that then there is only one Zmodeler running. Otherwise the ...

ETS/GTS filter guide thread. Updated 26 Feburary 2010
ETS/GTS *.pmg filter user guide thread. This guide thread is for filter version 2.2.3 Build 162 or higher, it's supplied with ZModeler version 2.2.3 Build 970 and higher. ZModeler version is written in a caption of main window. You can find filter version in a Options\Settings\Plugins\Manager windo...

The text plus simple formating? Sure. Tomorrow. Too tired now. The source of the displayed webarchive is HTML, not BBCode, of course, meaning some make-up is necessary. Any chance for pictures, somewhere in the deepest dungeons of your hard disk drives or the server? Naming convention was something ...

Re: Have topics been deleted?
Oleg, I understand that some old topics vanished lately. Shit happens. But I just wanted to refer somebody to the 2.2.3 release notes, and, more important maybe, to the ETS/GTS filter guide, introduced with that version. I can't find it here, and my stored link isn't valid anymore, so I think it is ...

I have done several imports with that version of GTS, using Zmodeler 2.2.6, without any problem.
Did you extract the whole GTS base.scs to that base folder?r636eos wrote:However, when care PMG without specific a base folder, it imports normally.

Re: ZModeler3 suggestions/wishes
An idea: Sometimes I copy objects with "instance" enabled. Nice feature. But if one revisits a model after some time, it may be hard to remember which objects are instances, and which are originals. Easiest way of bookkeeping such would be a different color for instances of other objects, ...

Re: The texture problem in Zanoza
Richard, is it possible that you had "merge" in mind, rather than "import"? Merge does also fetch all materials of the source model, not only those which are attributed to the merged part(s). Which is not really necessary and bloats the set of material, adding unused entries. Thi...

Not at the usual place. But I think Oleg will update the archive and spend you a new link soon.
But this is really curious. With all these MFC and ATL 32-bit security updates installed manually, I'm able to start Zmodeler 2.2.6 without a hitch on my VISTA 64-bit PC and my 32-bit Win 7 notebook.

Seems these files aren't installed by auto-update. I always have an up to date system, but had to install this stuff by hand.
Anyway. If you want to use a more recent version of Zmodeler later on, for whatever reason, you should try this. Happy holidays, as well.

Did you also tried the ATL update? The last link was for the MFC update. You may need both. If not already done, try this: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14431 Zmodeler will need the 32-bit version even on a 64 bit system, so vcredist_x86.exe is the correct c...
