The wireframe on your geometry object is solid bold, meaning all these edges are cut. Every triangle in your geometry object literally uses it's own three vertices, triangles do not share vertices. it is a must for every game to use triangulated meshes. Direct3D hardware can render only triangles.

the model was likely loaded with no "optimize vertices" option toggled.

And I'm not sure I get what you mean by "i can't delete/moving it" ? may you provide some screenshots that shows what exactly is wrong?

There are plenty of tutorials on youtube. I doubt someone will write you a guide here, as model version involves quite a lot of steps to take care of.

in case result object will not exceed 64K vertices, you can use Modify\Attach tool to do this. Mind to check vertices count after attaching - if you hit the limit, polygons will get messed (even if you don't spot it in 3D, they are always messed when limit is hit).

once again,
import original flags,
import original animation,
drag&drop flags branch to animation to get bones assigned (10 matches if i'm not mistaken).
right-click on __root__ and switch skeleton to animation mode (setup mode off)
play animation -> everything works fine.

post screenshot of your license window in ZModeler if you still can't get it to work. The topic you've specified is full and accurate, there is nothing that you should do other than follow it precisely.

they do have. but these are not the ID you edit in properties window, these are IDs the skeleton controls on bones. you can right-click on any bone and pick Skeleton->Set ID... The "flags.pmg" model has scale on "Root" bone that I could cause problems on export of model or animation. Not sure whether this scene export will be correct or not.

On your screenshot animation tracks have no assigned bones. You should drag&drop "__root__" onto animation (yes, from nodes hierarchy into tracks editor window), and pick "Match node ID to track name (10 matches)".

You can see a warning in the log window: the model requires skeleton and bones but it was sliced to parts bu IDs. Toggle "Merge parts" option on import and re-import model again.

nope. either pick a lower-detailed model at the fist place, or optimize geometry on your converted model. optimizing one object at a time (one object being exported/imported) could be the choice.

Load your model again, and try Edit UV tool with "continuous mesh surface" option toggled off. If you have used "Edit UV" earlier, the mapping is already corrupt.
