Resize motorcycle (or vehicles in general)

Post by gonzalo3005 »

Hi! Is it possible to resize a vehicle, in this case a motorcycle? If so, how different is it from the ped rescaling tutorial?

Vehicle rescale is simpler in my opinion. You just need to deal with scale tool only on different levels. In particular, entire scene is rescaled in objects mode with all objects selected and "Pivot" button toggled. Given that, ZModeler will rescale objects themselves and their axes position in one shot. Before you do so, toggle L0, COL and "crash" states to see all scene objects. Then select them all, then use Scale tool. Mind to trigger "all axes" (first) and specify scale value like 150 (second), press OK. Everything is scaled now.

However, this will not scale geometry objects on L1, L2, L3 and L4 that should be scaled manually again. But since this time you don't need Scale tool to rescale objects positions, you will need to scale on vertices level only (so only vertices/points are rescaled to make geometry bigger or smaller). Before you do so, toggle off "Crash" and COL states, so glass crash data and collision geometries are not affected. Switch to L1 state. While having all vehicle's objects selected, press '1' key and click in viewport to switch everything to vertices level. Select all vertices (Shift+A) and apply scale tool again. L1 geometry will get rescalred. Switch to L2 (while still on vertices level), Select all and rescale again; then do the same on L3 and L4.

Export and test in game.
