Attempting to bind mesh to skeleton

Postby hat1324 » Fri Mar 09, 2018 1:17 am

I keep getting the following error whenever I try to bind a mesh to a marked skeleton. I'm totally stumped:
Use Select/Mark tool to mark target skeleton base or a bone. Select source objects to bind or click on any object to bind it with marked skeleton

make sure you import model(s) with option "Slice to parts" turned off.

hide all objects except the skeleton (most likely named ".skel") and the object you need to be rigged with this skeleton (most likely to be named as ".mesh" located in some branch).

use Select\Mark tool and right-click on skeleton base object (pink sphere) in any viewport, it should toggle to yellow color;
then pick tool Rigging\Skeleton\Bind tool and click on geometry object (you might need to press L0 button first, so you actually see some geometry mesh in viewport). Once you click on a mesh, you should see message in a bar "Skeleton .skel was bind to .mesh" or something like that. from this moment on, hovering mesh object should automatically turn skeleton to yellow color.

Yeah I followed your steps and it started working again. Thanks Oleg.
