Vehicle Light Coronas

Hi guys, so I got a car that has no taillight coronas. Actually, it seems like it has coronas, but they were placed behind the taillights, inside the trunk, because I can see those coronas from certain angle. It was probably done on purpose to imitate modern LED lights.

I used to mess with other car light coronas before by fixing their placement so I'm kinda familiar with this, so I have imported the car in Zmodeler, found what I was looking for, but surprisingly, instead of a corona, I was actually moving a part of the light. That's weird. Did I just forget how it works and did something wrong? What should I do in this situation? Thanks.

Coronas are bind to some bone/part local axes, but their offset and configuration is inside vehicle's metadata file. This is not in a model file.

However, you can adjust local axes of headlights/taillights in ZModeler without affecting geometry (Modify\Move in "Move axes only" mode). This will have effect on coronas placement in game.

Олег, а как сделать ТРИ короны сзади? Насколько я знаю, метадата файл (carcols.ymt) устроен немного странно и позволяет задать только чётное число корон. Т.е. если я выставлю там 3, их будет 6. Сейчас стоит 1 и вот что получилось (после того как я в Змоделере скопировал корону и поместил её к верхнему дополнительному стопарю, чтобы всё было реалистично). Т.е. в Змоделере их три, но в игре 2. Можно ли с помощью Змоделера, или ещё как-то, перехитрить систему?)

you don't set coronas in ZModeler. Coronas are not related to ZModeler, they are scripted in metadata file. They are bound to axes of some bone/part and this is the only thing that is related to ZModeler.

I don't have any experience editing/adding coronas in GTA. I've never used to edit metadata file at all, so I can't be of much help on this subject.
