Material Problem! Mesh turns Blue!

Postby vans123 » Tue Jan 16, 2018 1:15 pm

Like the title says, the material is correctly set up. And even it has [PAINT:X] syntax inside material name this part keeps appearing in this color ingame!

try it with no [PAINT:x]. ensure object is uv-mapped onto some piece of texture. add a cube primitive with the same material (attach it) and see whether it appears with the same artifact.

@Oleg tests resulted in [PAINT:1] Syntax to be the cause of it turning blue. Thing is i have other materials with paint:1 and paint:2 syntax and im not getting them blue except for this very part
the material is vehicle_mesh using [PAINT:1] syntax to have it painted the same as bodycolor, any help please?

Update: tested using [PAINT:] sintaxis in another shader, vehicle_interior which worked with no problems

Update2: seems to be linked to vehicle_mesh shader using [PAINT:] Syntax, removing it makes the color to go away, btw the color isnt changeable like if it wasnt listening to the [PAINT] part and just assigning this color. Could you give some insight what could be wrong?

can you post a screenshot of this material properties from OpenIV? it's in "More info" => shaders -> material #....(vehicle_mesHh) with parameters and their values listed.

Exported past vehicles that didnt have this problem unlocked and re-imported them. Vehicle_mesh shaders i applied [PAINT:X] sintax to them lose it when re-imported
but the sintax used in shaders like vehicle_paint1, remain

@oleg had the same issue with vehicle_tire shader with [PAINT:4] option. I sent you a project with it few days ago.

matDiffuseColor 0.58, 1, 1 is the cause. can not reproduce the problem yet, I'll try Gta5KoRn files to see whether it reproduces or not.

Edit: @Gta5KoRn , your "wheel_spt_02" does not produce the same to me. all matDiffuseColor are 2,5,5 and 2,4,4 as expected. can you show me a screenshot of this model in OpenIV - the vehicle_tire that has different matDiffuseColor (than specified above) and the one material preceding the problematic one.

Materials export should not depend on any settings in profile according to configuration code.

@oleg @gta5korn problem with me is i used my "always" Zmod 3.1.5 copy and exported with this bug, downloaded a brand new zmod 3.2 x64 bits and it started exporting this bug too. Which i think came with a brand new zmodeler_profile.xml right?

it does not relate to profile.xml. Also, if you change diffuse color on material, does it export this particular RGB components (explore matDiffuseColor parameter in OpenIV) ?

The correct export value is 2, paint#, paint#. (e.g. 2,3,3 is for [PAINT:3]).

just tried an older project where i had this bug with vehicle_tire and also with vehicle_basic with [PAINT:6] option but now it exports correct and keeps the PAINT6 after reimport ... very confusing :/

i just had this bug again. [PAINT:1] setting on a veh_shuts material wasnt there after reimport. I took a backup ZModeler3_profile.xml and now works fine

ok, now another material doesnt save the PAINT setting :D replacing the profile file doesnt fix the problem this time lol

edit: i found out following scenario for my current project: When I open zm3 (without replacing backup profile.xml file) the first export is bug free, but the 2nd one (without any changes in the project) doesnt save the Paint setting on few shaders (badge, basic and shuts). When i close the program and open it again, the 1st export is bug free again and 2nd one with the bug.

i sent you the project in pm

edit: same happens with vanilla cars. after export at least the material vehicle_generic_doorshut [PAINT:1] loses the [PAINT:1] setting

fix will be available in next version.
Edit: to the moment, move paintable versions on this shader to the top of materials list, or at least make non-paintable versions of this shader go after all paintable versions.

i moved up & down several times in different combinations, but the export still bugged. Only app restart works for one export. Do you have a release date for the update?
