Crash upon export(PED)

Postby jeffrey9090 » Sat Jul 22, 2017 7:01 am

I'm using the player_zero skel
mesh from player_zero
export gets no error, just crash

I really don't know what else to report

Thanks

increasing the base to 100 works

EDIT: It does not work as it should; the ped is all screwed up when importing:

can you be more specific in details on what you do? the player model is made of dozen of .ydd files. you need to import yft model with skeleton and rename it to .global; then import individual .ydd files; mod them; export individual .ydd files. You should not combine everything into a single .ydd file;

I imported player_zero's skeleton and the different meshes; I then imported a random ped, and replaced the ped's mesh with the mesh from player_zero. I renamed the parts and the materials accordingly. Overall, I combined the parts to one ped. Why should I not do this? Are there issues with the skeleton and the .ydd?

when some .ydd model gets more geometry (and as a result bigger file size, the base value on associated .ydd scene node should be increased). Not sure on what has happen to mesh geometry, it should not behave like this. have you re-weighted mesh to proper skeleton before exporting? if you replace a mesh of some ped model with geometry from player_zero, you have to re-weight mesh onto ped's skeleton. you can locate ped's skeleton in associated .yft file in most of cases.

For a theoretical fix, assuming that I reweighted the mesh, by how much would I increase the base value?

EDIT: Would I have to modify the skeleton base value too? Or is it just solely based on the base value of the ped dummy?

Base value should be changed on a node that is associated with exported geometry model. For example, if you replace ig_bankman.ydd ped model, you should change Base value on ig_bankman dummy node. There is no specific solution for Base value, its a sort of trial and error.. if I had some formula for this value, exporter would do this automatically. :(
