GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
hi oleg,
I have a problem, I found a technique to reshape the arms and hands more quickly, I remodel that only one arm and then I detach the element, I created a copy, and a mirror on the ' Axis X, which saves me from remodeling of Second arm, but on this greeglobin model, impossible to select the element, it selects the whole body !, Yet the elements seem well separated, we see the lines of separation between the hands, The arms and the body, you would have a solution?
Thank you

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
use Select\Separated instead. Select\Element will not respect separation and seams on models, considering surface to be a uniform.
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
thank again, awesome!
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
Oleg the new update messed up rigging ped models.
I can't bind the model to the skeleton no matter what I do.
this has also happened to other people.

I have the same problem as you.quechus13 wrote:Oleg the new update messed up rigging ped models.

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
So I've been getting a bug where a small part of the coat that I just put on a ped moves oddly.
Some parts of the coat flop like the arms, even though it is not suppose to. How would I go about to fix this? Thanks.

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
their bone influence is set incorrect. select newly-added vertices and use "copy weight" tool. It will copy weights from non-selected (original) vertices onto neighbor newly-created (selected) vertices.

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
Did not work. Maybe the amount of influence is wrong? I just added a coat and the vertices near the bottom seems to go with the arms.
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
when vertices "go with the arms", they are affected by arms bones. weight is auto-normalized on export, but you are free to force normalization with Rigging\Influence\Normalize tool at any time.
I suggest to force weight paint again by hiding unnecessary vertices, toggling desired bone as current and using weight\paint tool manually.
note, when you paint in solid viewport (perspective or user-view), weight painting is not double-sided, so some vertices might not get painted well. disable "Solid" in viewport before painting weight manually.

Hello,
I don't know what has happened here, I need some help to solve this. In the screen-shot you can see the horrible looking of my player...

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
So how would I go about to get rid of influence?
Would painting over vertices to a different bone override the previous?

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
it's up to you to decide what method would you prefer. I just said the vertices need correct influence to be assigned on them.jeffrey9090 wrote:So how would I go about to get rid of influence?
@mrPDMZ, I can't remind an exact reason, but this appears to be a "placeholder" for the model, when your model is wrong. the game detects model to be mismatching to requirements and places this dummy placeholder. possibly missing some required component or your skeleton model does not match the one in .yft file.
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
hi oleg,I have a problem with this model, I would like to modify the skeleton to lengthen the size of the arms, I know how to reduce or enlarge a skeleton, but to modify a skeleton, I can not do what I want it to be Setup mode or not, the bones are not moving as I want, an idea?
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
you should not move selected bones altogether, you should pick just one bone in an arm and move it (with "affect children" option toggled on).

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
What I meant was that I have no experience in this new skeleton painting and I do not know how to erase paint. How would I go about to erase paint? Or do I paint over? Not too sure as this is all new to me.
Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
Hi oleg,
Last time when I exported my ped, the spec texture on the face seems to work (there are glossy lips). But then, with the latest update on zmodeler, the glossy lips are gone. The materials settings are the same.
I even had used/followed GTA V ped spec texture (the pinky texture). Still doesnt work.
BEFORE UPDATE (GLOSSY LIPS):
AFTER UPDATE (LACK GLOSS/FLAT FACE):

can you show a screenshot of [lips] shader parameters from OpenIV "more information" window?

Re: GTA V character (Player, NPC) modding
old version and new version on "Shaders" page with "ped.sps" selected please (your screen shows "geometry" page).
make sure to pick the one material that relates to problematic polygons (probably the second with fewer vertices/polygons used on it).
