truck uses paint AO texture (precomputed shading on texture) and AO shading in vertices colors, so original truck geometry is significantly dimmed compared to pure white. Your sun-shield probably utilizes blank (white) texture and either has no per-vertex color specified, or default white per-vertex color is used.

properties->mesh->vertices->format->Primary Color = 0n; apply;
surface\paint\color\ rgb = 192,192,192; select all vertices, press "Fill Selected".

it does not look the same as the cabin. assign the same material to see whether it is lighter or not. it still looks like per-vertex color is too bright. make sure an object has in properties->mesh->vertices->format->primary color = on.
