Zmodeler takes long time to load z3ds

Post by StevieG »

Hi all,

Only recently starting experiencing this issue. No idea what actually caused it, however Z3Ds have a hard time being loaded. The files are around 100-150mbs. I've tried running the program as admin, but nothing really. On average, the file takes around 30-40mins to load one file.
Specs;

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900KS CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4008 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
BaseBoard Product ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD 1TB (zmod runs from this)
2x Team T-Force Xcalibur RGB 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 DDR4 Black (32GB Total)

is it time for an upgrade? or is there a fix to this issue? Quite annoying tbh

I've recently checked on the setting to allow you to MERGE files that will use the same name eg

in my current hierocracy I would have a mesh called "misc_z"
- I can now merge other files with the name "misc_z" instead of having to rename the original "misc_z" if that makes any sense.

Most likely your .z3d file is flooded with unnecessary data that causes ZModeler to take that long to load. For example, animations (even empty) or may be a texture search paths/folders ZModeler tries to find textures in. You can send me a download link to the smallest of your .z3d file that takes long time to open (e.g. 2-5 minutes is over than usual to load).
