Just in case: If you need two copies of ZModeler running, put them into different folders and start from different folders.

Same license (same PC)?
Sometimes i'd be nice to be able to check settings for imported game models versus my own new models created from scratch

Yes, on same PC, I'm doing that all the time.

Just be aware that any change to Zmodeler internal settings will be local because all Zmodeler files will exist twice. And a small hint: If you apply Zmodeler updates, with auto-update, be sure that then there is only one Zmodeler running. Otherwise the update will be offered and installed again and again. You would have to update both Zmodeler installations, in sequence, of course. Or simple overwrite the other directory with the updated one.

Technical background: updates are downloaded, but not installed while ZModeler3.exe process is running. When you close ZModeler to let it install updates, an installing utility will wait for zmodeler3.exe process to finish prior to copy/replace files. If you run two copies of ZModeler, this will not happen and updates are not installed.
