New car parts not matching color on the rest of the car

Postby eljamon88 » Sun Sep 18, 2016 1:56 pm

Hey guys,

I wanted to attach the new front spoiler from the Burger Shot Stallion (GTA V) to the regular Stallion in GTA IV. So I exported this part from GTA V with ZModeler 3, imported it to the regular GTA IV Stallion with ZModeler 2 and then exported it again to use it in the game.

In order to have fully matching colors, I assigned the Stallion's car color material "vehicle_generic_smallspecmap paint2 [CLR:1]" to the new front spoiler.

PROBLEM: in the game, the front spoiler's color is brighter than the rest of the car's as you can see here:

I think it has something to do with the default material settings from GTA V but unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it.

Can anyone help me with that? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

it is affected by per-vertex color on mesh. Your mesh is either missing "diffuse color" in mesh->vertices->format properties (white color is used in such a case), or has a default white color on it.

use surface\paint\color tool to assign bright-grey color onto vertices of your new mesh.
