Vehicle editing

Post by vicecityplayer »

Hi,

I wanted to get information on editing a model from the vice city game. I want to perhaps give some function or just change the model structure of a vehicle, a boat in the game.

As for TXD image file, how does that work with retexturing the object again? It must simply be loaded into the software to texture the object.

Thanks.

txd is a package of textures; in order to load a model and change it, all textures should be extracted from .txd file first (e.g. into a set of PNG images).

model editing involves import and export. Import is not available in free version of zmodeler2; export is available in free version. so, it's generally possible to create content in free version, but not modify existing content.

Thanks for the reply.

And how are the images in the txd extracted?

I think you confusing vice city with San Andreas. Vice city and GTA 3 being the oldest games, they are editable with Zanoza Modeler.

if i'm not mistaken, txdworkshop is the tool to extract textures from txd files.

Right, thanks.

I found a copy of Zanoza Modeler via a 2shared file upload site. It doesn't work. I'm running windows XP 32bit for it. Itried importing a dff, it doesn't display. Nothing in the object box either.

I can't remind what version of zmodeler will be able to import vice city models, it was so long time ago.

I think it was the standard version 1.0 or something.

It is no longer available on the Zanoza Modeler 2 site. How does anyone try and edit for vice city then?

it was shipped as executable with installer and uninstaller build in. Later the NullSoft installer (used in zmodeler installation package) was found to be vulnerable and my hosting service provide has removed the file. I no longer keep zmodeler 1 series for download on my website.

you can google for 1.07b (is the latest version of first series) and get your copy.

This site has the installer you mentioned. I can't install it on the Windows 7 optiplex small form factor that I also use. I'll have to use on XP as I thought. :)

Export filter error file being shared?

Post by vicecityplayer »

I have managed to open up a dff file, and applied the textures using the Material editor wasn't any difficulty there.

I then tried in a seperate copy, I edited a part of the added files that are seperate to the vehicle mesh, deleted a couple of faces and changed some windows by moving the vertices. I then save and export the file as dff but the error 'invalid share attributes or share violation' is displayed? :?

"share violation" is the case when zmodeler tries to export/save into a file that is opened/viewer by another application. export into a different file or a different location;

Hi,

That doesn't change anything, I even tried exporting onto a Floppy disk.

It is on the desktop in a seperate folder. This also happens now with the original file on the desktop that also includes the Png file images, I also have a copy of those in the folder. :?
