by reducing geometry it stores inside (e.g. optimize models in 3dsmax or any other 3d package that does it good). Avoid using "embedded textures" when your exported file is too big.

you can place the object where you need it to be and read "Position" in properties of this object. If you've loaded an animation already, toggle "Free mode" to be able to move an object.

I guess it could be a physics preventing an object to slide up/down. I remind I was able to make objects sliding left/right and forward/backward, but I never tested up/down. As a quick test, try to roll over your vehicle and check whether an associate object will start sliding on Z.

What is your "MaxBones" value in Settings->Profile->Editor :: Preferences->Filters->GTARage ?
It should be something like 180 while in old vertices it was set to 128.

License key is likely not installed in ZModeler. When license key is installed, ZModeler needs to save it on a hard drive, so next time you run ZModeler, your license keys should be pre-installed. reboot your PC. Move zmodeler folder somewhere to drive D: if possible or at least to C:\Program Files ...

a result object should not exceed 64K vertices limit. Attach tool requires you to pick the object you want to attach (it will disappear from hierarchy) and then pick a target object to attach to (it will retain in hierarchy and will take source object's geometry).
