ZModeler puts object name into OBJ "group" name. You should probably check importing options in Blender whether it respects group names or something like this.

Edit: there is no "object name" in Wavefront OBJ format specification.

Exporting OBJ with Object Names

by TeaDrinker » Wed Jun 12, 2013 12:56 am

Hello,

Currently I'm trying to export a file into a OBJ format and keep the Object Names, such as Tyer 1/2/3/4 and so forth, but for some reason the export compiles the objects into one name so I can no longer select various parts in programs such as Blender.

Any way to keep the objects names when exporting to OBJ?

Thanks!
